The costumes are inspired by the armor of medieval knights. The whole idea is that the military armor isn’t used for fighting, but for taking care of the beauty of the Etretat garden. It’s a transformation of knights from aggressive warriors into caretakers. The knights are not warriors in this version of reality, but merely gardeners. Even their spears end with a shovel and rake, as they are more gardening tools than weapons.
