AIbout  the event

“The Story of an Ear that Pretended to be Deaf” is an interdisciplinary project combining elements of theatre, contemporary dance and costume design. The performance explores hearing as a central tool of human interaction — both with society and with oneself. Nobody truly listens to the other; everyone only listens to themselves — and even that not completely. We hear only what we want to hear.

All of this is presented in an ironic form: ears become mere decorative elements on the head, because often they do not fulfil their actual function. Besides the theme of hearing, the performance also deals with selective deafness and the related indifference.
